Robert has been drawing rhinos since he learned to hold a crayon. He has come a long way from crayons, now working primarily in oil and charcoal. He still paints and draws rhinos as well as other amazing animals, movie monsters, portraits, and rock stars.
Robert started designing for conservation organizations that would take him all over the world. He was just hoping to get published and help wildlife, when his art was noticed by The American Zoos and Aquariums corporate office.
Sara Karloff, daughter of the great Boris Karloff, who also has some of Robert’s work said “As you can imagine, I have been shown and sent quite a bit of Karloff artwork over the years, but when I first saw Robert Campbell’s Karloff art it mesmerized me. His technique and use of subtle color touches, his poses, his greying tones, his haunting eyes all make his creative Karloff art stand alone in a category of excellence.”
